Hollywood speaks out against the Orlando Shooting at Tony Awards
The Tony Awards was the venue where Hollywood came out in support of the victims of the Orlando shootings.
The Orlando shooting saw more than 50 people dead and injured and Hollywood spoke out.
The Tony Awards dedicated the show to the victims and families of the victims earlier on Sunday.
Frank Langella, who won the Best Actor award for his role in The Father said:
“When something bad happens we have three choices. We can let it define us, we can let it destroy us or we can let it strengthen us. Today in Orlando we had a hideous dose of reality. I urge you Orlando to be strong. I’m standing in a room full of the most generous human beings on earth and we will be with you every step of the way.”
James Corden from CBS put up a brave front and entertained. But before that, in a pre-taped segment, he announced:
“Theater is a place where every race creed, sexuality, gender is equal, is embraced and is loved. Hate will never win.”
Lin-Manuel Miranda, who won the Tony Award for Best Original Score for Hamilton read out:

He signed off with:
“Love is love is love is love is love, and love cannot be killed or swept aside”
